Our Lunch Club

Packed lunches

Our Lunch Club provides a relaxed environment and is an opportunity for those children attending to learn good table manners and further develop their social skills.  It also supports them in their transition to primary school.

Lunch Club is also a great way for children to get used to enjoy eating with their peers.  Once the children have finished their lunch, there is time to enjoy a story or another activity.

What should I put in my child’s lunch box?

We  feel passionately about promoting healthy eating at our Pre-School.  We therefore ask parents to provide a healthy packed lunch for their child including a drink and ensuring that their child’s lunch box contains a refreezable ice block to keep food cool.

We encourage parents to provide sandwiches with a healthy filling, fruit and milk based deserts such as yoghurt or crème fraîche.  We can provide children with water.  Packed lunches that consist largely of crisps, processed foods, sweet drinks and sweet products such as cakes or biscuits are discouraged!

Please note that we are a permanent “nut-free zone” and the packed lunch must not include any nuts, or anything containing nuts or nut products.

How much does Lunch Club cost?

Lunch Club sessions must be pre-booked for each half term.  The cost of each Lunch Club session from September 2025 is £3.30 and we invoice half termly in advance.  Parents are also to provide a healthy packed lunch for their child.

Our Lunch Club runs between the hours of 11.45am to 12.15pm from Monday to Friday.  This is during Micklands Pre-School term time only.  It is possible for your child to attend Lunch Club after a morning session or between a morning and afternoon session to create a full day.
